NUTRITION TIPS

Maximizing the amount of quality feed consumed and minimizing waste are the goals of a dairy nutritional program, and it all starts with the selection of high-quality, uniform feed ingredients. Rations should be properly mixed and balanced when they're delivered to your herd. The feed should also be easily accessible.

Knowing each cow is eating a properly balanced and consistent ration is important for maximizing dry matter intake and boosting production. Using POSILAC together with a good nutrition-management program will make the changes you see in the health and productivity of your herd even more apparent.

You can start a POSILAC program without changing your ration. In fact, it is not advised and often a mistake to alter diets when using POSILAC. Your cows will consume more feed, usually an additional 4 lbs. of dry matter intake (DMI) to support the average 10 lbs. of increased milk production, so take this into account when feeding.
